Defining the Problem :

Closet95 started as a one day passion project, inspired by the idea that most people underutilize the clothes they already own. Many of us default to the same outfits, overlooking combinations that could be creative or unexpected. I wanted to design a tool that could generate fresh outfit ideas from existing wardrobe items, helping users discover new looks effortlessly.

Although it was a short, experimental project, the goal was clear. I wanted to create an intuitive, playful interface that encouraged users to explore and experiment. This project gave me the opportunity to think creatively about interaction design, visual hierarchy, and user focused UX, all within a very condensed time frame.

Designing the Experience :

Given the personal one day timeline, I focused on rapid ideation and lightweight wireframing. I mapped out the key features: generating outfit combinations and exploring multiple iterations quickly. The interface needed to feel playful yet functional, encouraging users to experiment without being overwhelming.

I incorporated visual cues and subtle interactions to enhance engagement, making the process feel like a game. The layout prioritized speed and clarity, with generated outfits presented in a way that immediately communicated style possibilities. The goal was to spark creativity and inspiration, showing users combinations they might never have imagined.

Iteration through Testing :

With only one day to complete the project, there was no opportunity for formal user testing. Instead, I conducted quick, informal testing by showing the app to people who were around that day, family, friends, and peers, and observing their interactions.

Early feedback highlighted areas for improvement: users wanted faster outfit generation, clearer selection options, and a simple way to randomize the process. I used these insights to adjust the interaction flows, simplify navigation, and make the interface more intuitive and playful.

Even though the testing was informal, this process allowed me to identify pain points quickly, iterate rapidly, and enhance usability, ensuring the final product was engaging, easy to use, and fun for anyone exploring their wardrobe.

Delivering the Solution :

The final version of Closet95 is a playful, engaging tool that helps users see their wardrobe in new ways. Although it was a short project that I didn't think much of afterwards, it became a crowd favorite when I show my portfolio, demonstrating my ability to combine creativity with usability.

Users can quickly create outfit suggestions, experiment with combinations, and generate random outfits. The project highlights my design approach: balancing user delight, practical functionality, and rapid iteration. Closet95 shows that even a small, experimental project can provide meaningful insights into interaction design and creative problem-solving.
